Dr. Roy grew up in Mitchell, a small town in South Dakota, home to the world's only Corn Palace. She was a cheerleader for 11 years from ages 6 to 17. She became interested in chiropractic after receiving a back injury while cheerleading her junior year of high school. After weeks of suffering, her back pain was quickly corrected with chiropractic care. Regular adjustments allowed her to finish her senior year of cheerleading without pain. After high school, Dr. Roy received her Bachelors of Biological Sciences from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD. Her strong interest in human anatomy lead her to teach anatomy lab at SDSU. She then received her Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota. Dr. Roy has a special interest in pediatrics, pregnancy and postpartum care and believes in the Traditional Food Movement to better health. Dr. Roy has received specialized training in pediatric and pregnancy care through Intersect 4 Life and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She has also received functional medicine training through NutriDyn.
